Bunny Bonnet Pattern Release

After many months of procrastinating, I have finally found time to finish writing up the pattern for this cute little beauty (thanks half term!).

Bunny Bonnet is available as a free Ravelry download and you can find it hereIt comes in four sizes: newborn, baby, toddler and child.

I wanted to create a  quick to make vintage-style bonnet with super-cute bunny ears.
I decided to knit it by holding two yarns together (to add extra warmth and fuzziness) but it can be knitted entirely in a sport weight yarn as well. I used Drops Baby Merino held together with Drops Kid Silk.
The Bunny Bonnet is worked from the border up to the crown, from where short row decreases form the shaping of the back of the bonnet.
Stitches are then picked up at the bottom to create a border. Chin strap is knitted along with the decorative bottom border and a button is added at the end to secure the fastening.
My favourite part, the bunny ears, are knitted separately and then sewn on.

I hope you enjoy knitting this as much as I did!
