WIP Wednesday: On The Move

Hello everyone!

Today is another instalment on my adventure with Haruni shawl. And I have to say, I'm really enjoying it! I have knitted bits of lace before, but I have never done an all-over lace shawl, so this was a big step for me. Haruni is a lovely project for a beginner in a way that the lace is only worked on RS rows, which means you can breath out and relax a little while purling and stop counting between millions of YOs :-)
It's going to need to some good blocking!

It is so simple and enjoyable, that in fact I have started to taking my Haruni to knit on the bus. This doesn't happen very often, because being the very unlucky person as I am, either the person sitting next to me decides to get up while I'm performing triple section of "slip two sts, knit one, pass slipped stitches over, yo" and as much as I want to tell them "Hang on a second, I just need to finish knitting this section dear and then I'll move out of your way" I haven't had the courage to do that yet; or the bus suddenly slows downs and I drop tens of stitches, or my needles unscrew themselves (the pain of the interchangeables).

However Haruni becomes so nicely predictable that I can fairly easily fix dropped stitches and carry on without planning to stick one of my needles into the poor bus driver for stopping suddenly.
I have now moved from Chart A to Chart B and it's all going well too. Since the Ravellenic Games end on Sunday, I'm really hoping to be finished by then.

As always, check out Tami's Amis' and Ginny's blogs for more WIPs xxx

  12. Looks awesome so far! I still think you're really brave to bring lace on a bus! My bus ride is way too bumpy and uneven to attempt anything fancy!
