WIP Wednesdays: Back On Track

Well I did warn you I wasn't good with changes, didn't I? ;o) I've been a bad blogger recently, but with new job having long hours and my final exams at uni fast approaching, I decided to take a step back and stop knitting to deadlines.

Because, you know, world will not end if I won't finish every wip within a month of starting it.
Sometimes I have a hard time remembering that I knit for pleasure and I rush and try to finish everything as soon as I can. Until I was forced to put down my knitting for a few days (unthinkable!!) and focus on more important things, like sleeping for example (yeah, I used to get up BEFORE work to knit a little, not anymore...)

So my progress has been slow, but I'm enjoying it again. I got rid of that "must-knit-all-the-time" feeling.

So here's what I'm working at the moment:

My parfait Tunic has seen a some progress:

I'm also working on Stephen West Mystery Shawl but I will probably give it up because there's no way I'll be able to finish by the end of August!

Also, I'm working on my first ever SWAP! Very excited, so here's a sneak peek:

I have also been reorganising my yarn with new baskets/boxes (there are two more, but let's pretend they're empty, shall we??)

What have you been up to? Do you happen to lose your knitting mojo?

  1. I get very overwhelmed with lots of WIP on the go at once - I've been feeling like that alot recently and I was just thinking maybe a break from crochet/knitting for a few days might be a good thing.

Pretty yarn you are using for your tunic :)

  2. Glad to hear that slowing down a little has made you enjoy knitting a little more. I sometimes get stuck in a must-knit mode, and end up resenting it. A little break is just the ticket to get back on track :)

Love how your tunic is looking.

  3. Thays quite a stash. Love the tunic colorway!

  4. I agree with the others; sometimes a break is all you need to remember why you started and how much love you have for knitting in the first place. Unless it's absolutely necessary, in my opinion, there should be no deadlines. We should just knit for the pleasure of it.

Great WIPs and your stash has me drooling!!!!

  5. I find that with all this reading blogs, and blogging I am doing, my knitting has actually been slowed down, which is not a bad thing, if I wasn't on a deadline for the items I am busy with. But once they are delivered I agree, a break will be good so that it is enjoyable when you start again.

Love your WIP's and I so don't feel bad with my stash. Thanks.

  6. Your tunic is so pretty, love the pattern and colour!

  7. I know exactly what you mean about losing your mojo. Sometimes you just have to walk away for a while so you can come back with fresh eyes, I think.

I really love your tunic - those colours are beautiful :)

  8. I get the same way -- pressuring myself about the knitting projects when they don't seem to be getting done fast "enough." Crazy huh, when I'm just knitting for enjoyment most of the time!

the parfait colors are beautiful. your swap partner will be lucky to get that pretty scarf!

  9. I lose my mojo when things are really stressful at home, because I keep thinking about everything I should be doing instead. Also, sometimes when I finish a big project that I've worked on for a long time.

I love the colors in your tunic.

  10. I saw your first photo and went 'ooh' out loud :-) Love that yarn color :-)

  11. That parfait tunic is gorgeous, I love the little arches a ton! And hooray for swaps. :D The sneak peek looks really pretty.

  12. I love the tunic. The yarn is gorgeous and I love the little arches!

  13. Congrats on organizing your yarn. To me, that is one of the biggest challenges!

  14. I get that same pressured feeling. I always have too many projects going, and for the most part I'm OK with it. But now and then I feel like I should spend every waking moment knitting.

Your idea of slowing down is a good one!

    Love the tunic!

  15. Hi Paula, Just to let you know I have awarded you the Versitile Blogger Award on my blog! Please check it out and I hope you accept!
